This week was pretty good it felt like it went by pretty slow which was too bad but it was still good. It all started off with us branding calves last Monday. We ended up branding around 200 calves. This big family, called the Nelson's, have thousands of cows and they just go out every once and a while and brand a couple hundred. It was pretty cool, we got them all branded in just a few hours, there set-up was really good. We had all the calves in a corral and on one side it was open with someone who would hold the calves in. Then there would be a few guys that were really good at roping who would go in there and rope the calves by the back legs and pull them out. Then there would be some people with these metal things I forgot what they are called that would catch the calves by the head so that they couldn't move. It is hard to explain but I will have to send you some pictures so that it makes more sense. It was pretty crazy because it was going so fast. They had their little girls there giving shots and pulling out the calve's testicles, it was crazy. But I had a fun time. They had three branding irons going at the same time. After we helped them brand they had a ton of food for lunch. The grandpa was there who owned the whole operation and I went over and talked to him for a little while. He was a pretty cool guy. My companion has told me a lot about him because he served down there about a year ago, and they lived under his house. He is a funny guy. I asked him how much land he had and he told me around 40-50,000 acres. And then Elder Shah told me that he is almost a billionaire.
We had zone conference, Elder Evenson who is one of the area seventy was there. He was really cool and had a ton of good incites. Man it feels like zone conference was forever ago.
A couple of weeks ago we were asked to give talks in the Park Meadows Ward. I wasn't really excited for it but I thought that it was forever away and so I didn't really worry about it until like three days before. We were asked to give a talk on the priesthood and so we studied them out real good and got them ready. So yesterday we gave them, mine was 15 min. and Elder Shah went for 20. That was the longest that I have ever given a talk, before that it was only 7. I felt pretty good about that, and I felt that we both did a pretty good job.
All of our investigators are doing pretty good, mainly just floating around though. I wish that they were progressing more then what they are. Finola was the only one that came to church this Sunday. But we had a cool thing happen. We have had a non-member show up with her friend who is a member for the past couple of Sundays. So Hopefully we will start teaching her soon but we'll see.
Well I gotta go so I will talk to you all next week, Love you all!
Love, Elder Allred
